Veterinary Surgical Services in Bryn Mawr

Spay & Neuter Your Dog or Cat

Our veterinarians are experienced in a broad range of surgical procedures. We perform surgeries daily, including spaying and neutering to address reproductive disorders in both male and female pets. For example, spaying or neutering reduces the risk of ovarian, breast, and uterine cancer in female pets, and testicular and prostate cancer in male pets.

Bryn Mawr Veterinary Hospital offers a wide range of surgical procedures designed to improve your pet’s health and comfort. Surgeries will be scheduled following an extensive examination and consultation with one of our doctors.

A State-of-the-Art Facility for Your Pet’s Care

Our surgical suite and separate dental suite are housed with the most technologically advanced, state-of-the-art equipment to ensure your pet’s safety and comfort. Your pet will be monitored continuously, from induction of anesthesia through recovery, both electronically and personally by one of our well-trained surgical team members.

Pre- & Post-Surgery

We provide a full range of pre-surgical testing. Pre-anesthetic safety checks are done prior to surgery to identify and minimize any risks.

Post-surgically, your pet will continue to receive the best care to insure their comfort. Your pet recovers from the procedure in a heated recovery area and receives medication to control and minimize surgical pain. We believe that managing your pet’s discomfort is essential to their healing process.

We also offer cold laser therapy as a post-surgical option to help speed up healing and reduce pain for our surgical patients.

Surgical guidelines:

How can I support my pet's recovery after surgery?

After surgery, your pet will require special care and attention to ensure a smooth recovery process. Follow post-operative care instructions diligently, including administering medications as prescribed, monitoring incision sites for signs of infection, and limiting your pet’s activity as advised by our veterinary team. Providing a quiet, stress-free environment and offering plenty of love and reassurance can also aid in your pet’s healing journey.
